Temperatures will cool down this week, with rain probability back in the forecast

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – After a hot weekend, temperatures will cool down later this week and the chance of rain will increase again.

  • Today: Lots of clouds, cooler, light showers possible in the afternoon
  • Midweek: Scattered thunderstorms, humid, warm 27°C
  • Tropics: System development in the Caribbean on its way to us

Today will be cloudy and muggy, but it will cool down with temperatures between 27 and 30 degrees. The greatest chance of afternoon thunderstorms will be over the mountains and foothills along and north of I-40.

There is a chance of rain again this week.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy and mild, with a chance of small thunderstorms near Charlotte. Lows will be between 18 and 21 degrees.

Isolated thunderstorms are forecast for the Charlotte area from Tuesday to Thursday, with highs ranging between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius.

An initial advisory has been issued for Friday as rain and wind are widespread in our area. A tropical system developing in the western Caribbean Sea today will form and move northward through the Gulf of Mexico by midweek before hitting the Florida Panhandle on Thursday. Exact details will be hard to come by for a few more days, but gusty winds and heavier, more concentrated rain are likely in the Charlotte area late in the week.

As the remnants move westward, the weather is expected to improve over the weekend.
