Tee times, TV broadcast and spectator guide for the BMW Championship 2024 | Golf news and tour information
It’s a big week for Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Hideki Matsuyama and the rest of the 50-man field at the BMW Championship, the second event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Only the top 30 on the FedEx Cup points list at the end of Sunday’s play will qualify for the Tour Championship at East Lake and have a chance to win the FedEx Cup title and the $25 million prize purse.
It’s also a big week for Castle Pines Golf Club in Castle Rock, Colorado. The Jack Nicklaus-designed course hosted a PGA Tour event annually from 1986 to 2006. After a $25 million renovation, it will now host the first Tour event in the Centennial State since the 2014 BMW was held at Cherry Hills Country Club.
A year ago, Viktor Hovland started his BMW tournament on Sunday at Olympia Fields outside Chicago three shots behind the leader, but made seven birdies in his final nine holes, setting a new course record (61) and winning by two shots. The following week, he kept his momentum going, winning the Tour Championship at East Lake and the FedEx Cup title.
Denny McCarthy currently sits in 30th and last place in the Tour Championship when it comes to the BMW. Nick Dunlap will also play this week after finishing tied for 5th at TPC Southwind to move up to 48th. To secure a spot at East Lake, Dunlap and other pros like Cam Davis and Keegan Bradley will need to produce another notable finish.
This week’s winner will receive 2,000 FedEx Cup points and a $4 million share of the $20 million prize pool.
