NEON has released the first teaser trailer for the new film by director Steven Soderbergh Presenta horror film that tells a ghost story in a haunted house.

I saw this film at Sundance and it is a very unique take on a haunted house story. Present revolves around a family who moves into a seemingly peaceful suburban home and is then struck by the unsettling realization that they are not alone.

The film is shot entirely from the perspective of an invisible, supernatural presence that lives in the house. We only see what the ghost sees, and the ghost sees that something sinister is coming to this already dysfunctional family.

Soderbergh directed the film, so technically he is the one who plays the ghost in the story. Actor Chris Sullivan said: “You watch this film and you realize that Steven is running up and down the stairs in martial arts shoes, trying not to make a sound. It’s an incredible dance and a masterpiece of cinematography and direction.”

In my review of the film, I wrote: “The film has an eerie atmosphere, and Soderbergh’s masterful use of a single location creates a sense of claustrophobic dread. The haunting story unfolds with a sense of relentless tension, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats.”

The film wasn’t perfect due to its confusing subplot, but it still works and is worth watching for horror enthusiasts and Soderbergh fans alike.
