Talulah Riley talks about relationships with Elon Musk and Thomas Brodie-Sangster

Talulah Riley talks about her love life past and present.

In a new interview with the British newspaper The times In the article published on Thursday, August 15, the 38-year-old actress was asked which of her three weddings was the most beautiful – she has married Elon Musk twice and is currently married to Thomas Brodie-Sangster – and chose not to compare the weddings.

“Um, I don’t know how fair it is to rate weddings. All of my weddings were very beautiful,” Riley said The timesadding that they are all “different but equally lovable.”

The pride and Prejudice The actress, who married 34-year-old Brodie-Sangster earlier this summer, is still good friends with 53-year-old Musk, who was also present at the wedding on June 22 in England.

And despite their two divorces — they married in 2010 and divorced in 2012, remarried the following year and finalized their second divorce in 2016 — Riley had nothing but flattery to say about the tech mogul, the interviewer noted.

“Well, you know better than anyone that what we read in the mainstream media is not necessarily the absolute truth,” Riley said The timesbefore using a wrestling analogy to explain that Musk as a public figure is very different from the man she knows.

“It’s ‘kayfabe’ – everyone tells a story to some degree and will frame things to some degree,” she said. “I loved/love the guy, so in my opinion I’m incredibly subjective, can’t be unbiased and shouldn’t be expected to be. I’m sure, well… you know what it is to be in love, right?”

Riley and Brodie-Sangster first met in 2021 while working on the FX show Gun, and the actor shared the news of the couple’s engagement on Instagram in July 2023, writing, “I am excited to announce that Talulah and I are engaged,” adding a reference to the film he starred in when he was 13. Indeed… Love.

“Love is all about X,” he continued, quoting a line said by the British Prime Minister in the film, played by Hugh Grant. The post included a sweet snap of the couple together on a boat.

His then-fiancée also posted the news on social media at the time, sharing a post on X (formerly Twitter) that read: “I am so happy to announce that Thomas Brodie Sangster and I are engaged after two years of dating!”

In The times In the interview, Riley recalled her recent wedding to Brodie-Sangster. The couple live together in Hertfordshire – where they tied the knot in the village of Anstey – on a small farm full of animals.

From sheep and ponies to ducks and chickens, the couple have plenty of company, as well as a beehive they recently installed – which almost ruined their wedding day.

The day before the ceremony, Riley recalls, “the caterer came to me a little nervously and said, ‘There’s a huge swarm of bees where we’re going to have the champagne reception. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. Please come quickly.'”

“So I went into the back garden and there was a huge black cloud,” she said The times. “The magnitude of a plague of biblical proportions.”

With a little help from her mentor, the beekeeper, the cloud of bees was lured back into the hive, Riley said – and the actress now views that moment as a kind of good omen.

“In the past, people in a family would go to the bees and talk to them and tell them about births, weddings and deaths. When Queen Elizabeth II died, they told the royal bees,” she told the outlet. “And so the night before the wedding, we went to the bees and said, ‘Welcome. We’re getting married tomorrow, just FYI.'”

“Anyway, they are still with us,” she added.

However, she said she will not be doing much beekeeping in the coming months as she plans to accompany her husband, an actor, on his next filming in Australia. The timesand added: “I think his career is remarkable and exciting.”
