Swedish Crown Princess attends the wedding of a Norwegian princess

Sweden’s heir to the throne, Crown Princess Victoria, and her husband Prince Daniel are planning a trip to the wedding of Norwegian Princess Märtha Louise.

Victoria’s brother Prince Carl Philip and his wife Princess Sofia will also attend the wedding in Geiranger, western Norway, a spokeswoman for the Swedish royal family said on Tuesday.

The Swedish royal family is so far the most prominent foreign guest at the wedding of Märtha Louise, 52, and Durek Verrett, 49, a US citizen and avowed shaman.

The Norwegian royal family, including King Harald V and Queen Sonja, both 87 years old, as well as Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, had previously confirmed their attendance at the wedding.

Märtha Louise, number four in the line of succession to the Norwegian throne, is the daughter of Harald and Sonja. Haakon is her younger brother.

The preparations for the wedding this Saturday on the picturesque Geirangerfjord were accompanied by numerous controversies.

The British celebrity magazine “Hello!” has secured exclusive rights to the wedding ceremony and reception, but the Norwegian royal family has expressed concerns about being photographed exclusively.

The streaming service Netflix announced that it is working on a documentary about the love story between Märtha Louise and Verrett.

According to media reports, the company has also acquired the TV rights to the wedding.
