Swabian invasion in Madrid: This is how VfB fans celebrate before the Real cracker – News about VfB Stuttgart
The Plaza Mayor in the heart of Madrid has been firmly in the hands of VfB Stuttgart fans since Tuesday afternoon (September 17th) at the latest. Thousands have followed the team and are celebrating their team’s Champions League debut against defending champions Real Madrid this evening at 9 p.m. (click here for our news blog).

This peaceful Swabian invasion is peaceful, full of anticipation and boundlessly optimistic, as a small survey conducted by our editorial team among the supporters shows.
Everything is accompanied by the longest fan song of the past season, which has become a hit: “After all this shit, it’s time to travel. Stuttgart international!” And now that the team is actually going on a European trip, the lines are being belted out with even more fervor than usual.
An unforgettable trip for VfB fans
Then there’s the match scarf advertised by the street vendors for eight euros, which seems incredibly surreal considering that VfB was still fighting against relegation from the Bundesliga in the relegation play-offs a year and a half ago. A parallel world, but a beautiful one. The Stuttgart fans, who have suffered so much in recent years, soak up every moment under the Spanish late summer sun. And no matter how the big game turns out in the evening: these moments will remain.
It is difficult to estimate how many fans are in the city. A number somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 is probably realistic. Four charter planes organized the “VfB Away” event alone, plus numerous individual trips and the official delegation with employees and sponsors.
VfB fan march to Estadio Santiago Bernabeu
At around 6 p.m. there will be a fan march to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. However, only those who have tickets for the away section should take part, according to the Stuttgart fan support team. The Spanish police will accompany the procession to the entrance to the away section of the Bernabeu Stadium. The official fan meeting point is on Avenida de Brasil Tetuán, 28020 Madrid. VfB’s fan representatives will be available there from 4 p.m. The meeting point is ten minutes from the stadium.
