Suspected serial groper terrorizes women in the aisles of a Los Angeles supermarket

While shopping at a Ralphs store at 2600 South Vermont Avenue in South Los Angeles on Sunday morning, August 25, a young woman was browsing in the spice section when a stranger allegedly grabbed her buttocks, squeezed her, and then quickly walked away.

“I was angry,” she said. “I felt hurt. I couldn’t believe this was happening to me.”

The woman, who asked us not to disclose her name, said she informed Ralphs employees that she had been touched inappropriately.

Security told her that the man was still in the store.

Then the woman waited at the exit to confront him.

“It happened so fast that I remember just punching him in the eye. He didn’t say a single word to me,” she says.

The alleged groper got into a car with another man and drove away before police arrived. It turned out there was a second victim.

“There was an elderly woman crying and saying he hit her in the chest,” said the first victim.

The woman who spoke to Fox 11 News took a photo of the man as he walked away. She hopes someone can identify the man.

She also hopes to empower women.

“We want to make it clear to women that we do not have to remain silent when we are sexually harassed, because it happens much more often than we think and it is also reported much more often than we think,” she said.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating this case.
