A Golden police officer was injured Friday morning when he attempted to stop the driver of a stolen truck that rammed several police vehicles and eventually fled to Denver.
Golden police and Jefferson County sheriff’s officers attempted to stop the Ford F250 pickup truck in a Home Depot parking lot in Golden shortly after 8 a.m. Friday, Golden police said in a news release. The driver rammed several police vehicles, struck a Golden police officer and fled.
The officer was taken to a hospital, treated for minor injuries and released, the department said.
Police and sheriffs pursued the vehicle into Denver but called off the pursuit due to the driver’s “increasingly unsafe” driving behavior, the agency said. The vehicle was last seen near W. 10th Avenue and N. Perry Street. The white truck has damage to the driver’s door and rear panel on the driver’s side.
The driver has not yet been identified, according to the agency. A spokesman for the agency did not immediately respond to a request for more information.
