Suspect arrested in connection with cell phone robbery in Washington DC

WASHINGTON, DC — A suspect was arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred in Northeast DC on Tuesday, August 13

At approximately 8:34 a.m., a victim reported being attacked from behind in the 600 block of Rhode Island Avenue, Northeast, whereupon the suspect snatched her cell phone and fled on foot. Fifth Precinct officers responded quickly, relayed the suspect’s description, and located him nearby.

After investigation, 19-year-old Christian Pickney of Northeast was arrested and charged with robbery.

    Washington, DC — Authorities are investigating a robbery that occurred early this morning in the 900 block of K Street in Northeast DC

    Police are looking for four suspects involved in the incident. The suspects include a slender transgender woman wearing a black shirt and three black women: a slender one wearing a long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans, another heavyset one wearing blue jeans, and the last slender one wearing orange leggings. One of the suspects is reportedly armed with OC spray.

    Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (202) 727-9099 or text a tip to 50411. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

  • TSA discovers stun gun disguised as cell phone at Washington National Airport

    ARLINGTON, VA – Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport discovered a stun gun disguised as a cell phone in a carry-on bag during a security check.

    The device, which is said to resemble an older iPhone model, was shared by TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

    Similar products are available online for about $20. While stun guns are legal for adults in DC, Maryland and Virginia, they are prohibited in carry-on luggage but can be transported in checked luggage if properly secured. Additionally, stun guns are not permitted in certain areas of the District, including government buildings.
