Super Jersey is a million dollar team sport this year as a new major prize money structure is announced – Elite News

The new Supertri season will feature well over $1 million in prize money – with the majority of that based on team scoring, a major change to the series.

It all kicks off this Sunday in Boston: The winners of eleven Olympic medals in Paris will fight for glory in a five-round series, including individual gold medalists Cassandre Beaugrand and Alex Yee.

And this time, the focus of the prize pool is entirely on the teams and rewarding emerging talent in the sport – over two-thirds of the total pot of $1.365 million is based on the teams’ final placings.

Who are the Supertri teams?

The 16 male and 16 female athletes are divided into four teams, with Brownlee Race, Crown Race, Podium race And Stars & Stripes Race everyone competes for fame.

All this means that the Olympic medalists will renew their rivalries from Paris and develop a new team dynamic under respective coaches Non Stanford, Chris McCormack, Tim Don and Parker Spencer.

The team league prize pool is $925,000, with the leading team of four men and four women receiving a whopping $375,000. That’s more than triple the total team prize pool of $300,000 starting in 2023.

And this amount is in addition to the prize money paid to the top five athletes in the men’s and women’s leagues and to the winners of the swimming, cycling and running leagues.
