Suki Waterhouse talks about the obstacles of raising her baby in public

Suki Waterhouse speaks openly about what it’s like raising a child in the public eye.

As a guest on the episode of Emma Chamberlain’s podcast on Thursday, September 12 Everything is possibleThe 32-year-old singer said that raising her nearly six-month-old daughter with her fiancé, actor Robert Pattinson, is becoming increasingly difficult as the little one tries to explore the outside world.

“I think it’s getting more and more difficult,” admitted the mother of one. “Of course I would prefer if her face wasn’t shown or something like that. That would be my ideal. But I also think I have to be realistic about the world we live in.”

The Daisy Jones and the Six The actress continued: “And now she’s almost six months old. She wants to look at flowers and touch things and just be out in the world.”

“That was a little more intense,” she added.

Waterhouse explained that because of her daughter’s growing curiosity, she found herself conflicted between wanting to protect her daughter from fans and paparazzi and wanting to show her the world around her.

“I want to protect her from that, but I also want to walk with her and sit in a cafe and go out with her,” she said. “And someone will probably take a picture and probably show their face. And you don’t really understand that there are laws, but they get around them.”

“You have to be some kind of realist and not be devastated and not get so upset because we live in a completely crazy world,” Waterhouse continued.

“If I want her to have a life where I get her out, that’s more important to me,” she said. “It’s more important to me that I’m peaceful and can show her the world than I have her hiding inside and stuff like that. I want her to have a cool life.”

At the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday, September 11, Waterhouse spoke to Access to Hollywoodand said she had the “best day” showing her daughter New York City.

“I had the best day with her today and it’s heaven to show her New York City,” she said. “It’s the best. And it’s getting more and more fun.”
