Suki Waterhouse and her fiancé Robert Pattinson are getting used to their parental leave.

At the 2024 MTV Music Video Awards on Wednesday, September 11, the 32-year-old singer and actress spoke to Access to Hollywoodand shared that Pattinson was the “greatest” as she noted that her 38-year-old actor fiancé was “on set” while their young daughter was at home.

“I had the best day with her today and it’s heaven to show her New York City,” she said of spending time with her daughter, who was born in March. “It’s the best. And it’s getting more and more fun.”

On Thursday, September 12, Waterhouse appeared in an episode of Today and talked about whether she or Pattinson changes diapers better.

“You know what? I would say I change more diapers,” she admitted. “But! Changing diapers… he’s really good at it and enjoys it. He thinks it’s funny. The surprise and everything.”

In July, Waterhouse appeared on The run through with Vogue Podcast and chatted about her latest magazine cover, which featured her little daughter.

In the interview, Waterhouse talked about her performance at Coachella shortly after the birth of her daughter and admitted that she was initially in “denial.”

“I was offered Coachella long before I was pregnant. And then when I found out I was pregnant, I was counting the months and I was like, ‘Oh no. Oh no,'” Waterhouse recalls.

“I was basically in denial. Oh my God. As the end of the pregnancy got closer, I kind of gathered my whole team together and it was actually a testament to the fact that I had such amazing people around me because we had just done so much prep beforehand,” she continued. “We really worked so hard, so basically all I had to do was walk out of the house for the first time, get in the car with the baby and drive to the desert, which is only a couple hours away.”

Although she put a lot of work into preparing for her Coachella performance, the star went on to say that she and Pattinson did not do much preparation before welcoming their daughter.

“We both thought, let’s just be surprised. Let’s just see what it’s like and let the whole thing surprise us,” Waterhouse recalled. “But those first two weeks were absolutely crazy. You spend so much time imagining what it’s going to be like. And I think for me, it just felt like that transition.”

“It just feels like this new season that you’re stepping into, where the most important thing for me is actually to look around, and it’s also incredibly healing when you look at your own mother,” she continued. “And just having this whole different level of understanding, really, truly.”
