LYNNWOOD, Washington. – Lynnwood High School was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning after a reported incident of road rage and a 16-year-old student was taken into custody, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said.
Before 7:30 a.m., officers responded to a road rage incident involving a firearm on North Road.
According to officials, the victim stated that a suspicious female pulled out a gun while driving and drove into the parking lot of Lynnwood High School.
The driver was arrested by officers and the school was completely locked down during the investigation.
According to the sheriff’s office, officers found what appeared to be parts of an assault rifle on the floor of the suspect’s car.
Officers took the suspect, a student, into custody. There is no threat to students or staff. The suspect’s car and backpack were seized as evidence and will be searched pending a search warrant.
The investigation is still ongoing.
