Strong storms from Thursday will end around midnight, fine weather will return on Friday

WEATHER HISTORY: Our two-week warm spell has filled the atmosphere with southerly moisture and lots of heat energy, which is increasing condensation. The trigger for the storms to develop is a low pressure system moving in from the west, increasing a 60 percent chance of potentially strong storms on Thursday evening. Things will calm down on Friday, but there could be rain over the weekend.

THURSDAY NIGHT: A 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms will end around midnight after several funnel clouds were spotted earlier in the day. The afternoon high will be 82. The low will fall to a range of 45 to even 60. Rainfall from this system could be between 1/4 and 3/4 inch. Winds will be from the southeast at 10-20 mph.

FRIDAY: The high pressure system will move through for a day, bringing mostly sunny temperatures on Friday. The high will reach 75 degrees. The normal will be around 67 degrees. Winds will be from the west at 5-15 miles per hour.

SATURDAY: Our next low comes with a 40% chance of rain with partly sunny skies. The low will be 55. The high will be 75. The wind will be out of the south at 5-10 mph.

SUNDAY: It will be cloudy with a 30% chance of rain. The low will start around dawn in the 50s. The high will be 65. The wind will be from the north at 5-15 mph.

MONDAY: Skies will be partly sunny with a 30% chance of rain. The morning low will be 45. The afternoon high will be 65. The wind will be from the northeast at 10-20 mph.

TUESDAY: There is a 40% chance of rain with mostly cloudy skies. The low will be 48 and the high will be 65. The wind will be from the north at 5-15 mph.

Next week: After a three-week warm spell, temperatures are finally falling slightly below normal. Next Wednesday it will be sunny again.
