Strictly’s Craig Revel Horwood postpones his wedding for the third time

“Strictly Come Dancing” judge Craig Revel Horwood has postponed his wedding for the third time.

Craig and his partner Jonathan Myring got engaged in 2020 and decided to wait to get married until Covid-19 restrictions were lifted.

They had planned to get married in 2022, but then postponed the big day to 2023 to renovate their house.

Craig has now announced that the wedding has been postponed until 2027 and described the wait as “the longest engagement ever”.

“The wedding had to be postponed again! It will be the longest engagement ever – the calendar shows a date for 2027,” he told Woman’s Own magazine.

“It’s been a real mess, but we’ll get through it eventually. Hopefully our house will be renovated and the gardens will have grown by then. We want to get married in the house, so it’s important that we sort all this out beforehand.”

He added that he wanted his mother to be at the wedding after she was diagnosed with cancer.

“I wanted my mother to be there too. She was diagnosed with cancer ten years ago and was given the all-clear, but now unfortunately the cancer has returned,” he continued.

“Her health is not good enough for her to come here this year, so I said we will wait until she gets better.

“I said I would walk to the altar with a walker, but since Jonathan is now going to the emergency services, at least I’ll be taken care of! There’s a method to all this madness!”

The TV presenter gave the Daily Mail some insights into his wedding planning and the possible roles of his loved ones.

“If my mom is still alive, she could do that (walk down the aisle). Well, I hope so. I mean, that would be great. My sister could be my best man, that would be really cool,” he said.

“She writes brilliant speeches and is incredibly funny, so I think she’s going to be my best man. So we’ll have to go on a hen party. Or a witch’s party. I don’t really know what to do with that!”

Be sure to come and dance will return to BBC One later this year, while the spin-off Strictly speaking: It takes two is broadcast on weekdays on BBC Two. Both shows can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
