Officers are pursuing a suspect driving a suspected stolen vehicle near South Los Angeles.

It is unclear what triggered the persecution.

As SkyCal flew overhead, a huge trail of sparks could be seen behind the car, which appeared to be a white Kia.

Because of the blown tire, the car continued traveling in the westbound lanes of the 91 Freeway before eventually stopping near the Santa Fe Avenue exit, where three people got out and ran onto the embankment.

The suspects then dispersed, running through buses and onto the streets.

While officers were searching for the suspects, the car caught fire and a large cloud of smoke swirled up.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to contain the flames, but the entire incident caused massive traffic chaos.

At around 8:20 p.m., officers reported that all three suspects had been located and taken into custody.
