Insider transactions in the state-owned gas sector last year

Notably, this recent purchase by non-executive director Philip St Baker was not the only time they have bought State Gas shares this year. Earlier this year, they paid AU$0.15 per share in a purchase valued at AU$350k. So it’s clear that an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (AU$0.045). Their opinion may have changed since then, but it at least shows that they were optimistic at the time. It is very important for us to consider the price that insiders pay for shares. As a general rule, we are more positive on a stock when insiders have bought shares at a higher price than the current price, because it suggests that they considered the stock worthwhile even at a higher price.
