After an offseason filled with changes in New England, the Patriots are finally ready to take the field for the first time in the Jerod Mayo era. The team will welcome the Carolina Panthers to Gillette Stadium on Thursday night for their first preseason game of the summer.

It will be a far more exciting game than a typical preseason game as both teams hope to get back on track under new head coaches, plenty of new talent in the squad and a good foundation to build on.

The Patriots hope to accomplish this with an entirely new coaching staff and with all of their talent in Drake Maye, who will reportedly get some action during his game. Jacoby Brissett remains the starter, and aside from the quarterbacks, everyone will have a chance to play in this game, according to Mayo.

The first preseason game is scheduled to begin on August 8 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

How to watch via cable:

The game will be broadcast nationally on the NFL Network and can be viewed on the following major cable providers: Comcast, DirecTV, Spectrum and AT&T U-Verse.
