Kailash Kher recalled how Ranveer Singh and Shah Rukh Khan danced along while he sang ‘Bam Lahri’ during Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s grand wedding reception.

In an exclusive interview, Kailash Kher recalled his performance at the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.

When Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant tied the knot earlier this year, the whole world watched. From Justin Bieber serenading the crowd at the sangeet to a full-blown concert featuring legends like AR Rahman and Shreya Ghoshal, the three-day extravaganza was nothing short of spectacular. Big names from Bollywood and Hollywood attended the wedding ceremony. Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, John Cena and even Kim Kardashian graced the event, among others. But amidst all the glitz and glamour, one event stood out – a sacred ‘yagna’ that featured the ever-inspiring Kailash Kher.

In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Kailash Kher recalled his performance at Anant Ambani’s wedding and said, “Weddings are many, but some are so grand and splendid that they have a bit of tradition too. The wedding I attended was themed on Shiv and Shakti. There was a yagna (sacred fire ritual) that day and during the yagna I sang. God has not chosen us just for entertainment; how happy I am that the Almighty invited me. And it was not just for light entertainment; I was called out of divine devotion.”

As Kher played his hits like ‘Bam Laheri’, the atmosphere changed from cheerful to electric. “There were several actors dancing,” Kher said with a grin, adding, “That’s the moment when you forget yourself and get into a state of relaxation, surrender to God, and you realise that you are just a simple entity. I am just an entity, that’s all,” he mused, emphasising the power of surrendering to the music and the moment.

Kher also mentioned how top Bollywood actors danced during his performance and said, “There were several well-known actors there, including Ranveer Singh, and they were all dancing. Shah Rukh Khan was also there. Everyone was jumping for joy and dancing.”

In a wedding filled with dazzling performances and elaborate staging, perhaps it was this moment of shared devotion that truly captured the essence of the event. “Our hearts dance and the body simply moves as it pleases. The dance that counts is the dance of the heart; it is the mind that really dances. The real dance is in our souls,” concluded Kher, reminding us that even in the most glamorous setting, the simplicity of connection and devotion leaves a lasting impression.
