The Reds beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-1 last night at Great American Ball Park. Hunter Greene pitched seven strong innings, allowing one run on four hits and eight strikeouts to improve his record for the year to 9-4. Alexis Diaz made his 24th save. Cincinnati took a 4-0 lead thanks in part to a solo home run by Ty France in the 2nd inning and a two-run blast by Jeimer Candelario in the 6th. Spencer Steer added an RBI single. The Reds look to complete a three-game series sweep tonight. Emilio Pagan starts for Cincinnati; the Cardinals send right-hander Kyle Gibson to the mound. Coverage begins at 6:10 on 103.9 WRBI.

Bengals punter Brad Robbins left the field before yesterday’s practice with a hip flexor injury. Backup quarterback Jake Browning has a rib problem and is expected to be out for some time. The team travels to Chicago today before a joint practice with the Bears on Thursday. The two teams will meet Saturday afternoon at Soldier Field as part of their preseason training.

The Colts are hosting the first of two joint practices with the Arizona Cardinals ahead of the teams’ preseason game on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium. It’s also Fan Appreciation Day, with events in Colts City from 4-8 p.m.
