Some HUGE moments for Manchester United!

Southampton could have taken the lead. Instead, Bruno Fernandes delivers a spectacular cross from a short corner and finds de Ligt at the far post.

The Dutch centre-back rose high and headed the ball over the goal into the far corner. His first goal for Manchester United and just a few moments later Cameron Archer missed the ball.

TYLER DIBLING! What an impact from the 18-year-old winger! He beats Dalot with ease on the flank and is brought down by the full-back.

26′: Kobbie Mainoo is the first player to be booked for a handball on the ground. Fernandes plays a loose pass and Mainoo is caught by Ugochukwu. After falling to the ground, Mainoo catches the ball with his hands.

At the other end, Dibling tackles Dalot and gets a free kick near the corner. And that leads to a chance! Ugochukwu is unmarked and heads over from eight meters! Great chance.

23′: Dalot is struggling at left-back and the rampaging Sugawara is able to move into his midfield with ease. The full-back sends a cross towards the far post and De Ligt has to make a vital save to deny the danger while Archer lies in wait.

19 mins: Now it’s a fast-paced affair at St Mary’s. Walker-Peters weaves past De Ligt on the byline and sets up a chance for Archer before United can clear.

On the other side, Fernandes succeeds in counterattacking, but his shot with his left foot goes wide.

15′ CHANCE! United have their best move of the day – and they should be ahead! Eriksen plays a clever ball that slides along in front of goal and finds Joshua Zirkzee six yards out! Zirkzee stretches, meets the ball but can’t reach it well enough to trouble Ramsdale, who intercepts the ball.
