Sooners player Kendel Dolby has to leave the field due to a leg injury

NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma senior defensive back Kendel Dolby suffered a serious leg injury in the second quarter of Saturday night’s game against Tennessee and was carted off the field.

With 8:58 minutes left in the first half, Dolby encountered Tennessee tackle John Campbell Jr. His right leg buckled awkwardly under him and he immediately grabbed at it.

Dolby’s leg was placed in an aircast and he was surrounded by the entire Oklahoma defense before being carried off the field.

Dolby, a junior college transfer who arrived at Oklahoma last season, earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors last year with 49 tackles.

He had seven tackles this season through Saturday after missing last week’s game against Tulane with a concussion. He recorded three tackles against Tennessee before suffering the injury.

The Sooners will also be without wide receiver Nic Anderson, who is out week-to-week with an unspecified injury. He started Saturday’s game in uniform, then went back to the locker room and came out in civilian clothes.

OU already had problems at the receiver position, as Jayden Gibson was out for the rest of the season with a knee injury and Jalil Farooq broke his foot in the season opener against Temple.
