Sonakshi Sinha-Zaheer Iqbal on the “beautiful moment” of her wedding: “While we were getting married, Azaan was playing in the background”

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are a perfect couple. They got married on June 23 after 7 years of dating. After their registered marriage, the couple hosted a grand reception for their friends and family from the industry. They also recently went on honeymoon in the Philippines and shared pictures and videos on social media. In a new interview, the couple shared a beautiful divine providence during their wedding and added that the kanyadan was delayed by 15 minutes.

In an interview with Galatta India, newlyweds Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal said that while the Pandit was reciting mantras during the Kanyadan ceremony, they could hear the Azaan in the background and described the moment as divine intervention.

Zaheer explained, “I think that was the most beautiful moment of my life. It was so beautiful. The Kanyadan was 15 minutes late and when we finally sat down, I held her hand and we prayed.”

He continued, “Suddenly Sona said, ‘Can you hear that?’ I asked, ‘What?’ She replied, ‘The adhan is playing’ and it was such a beautiful moment. The pandit was praying, reciting the mantras and the adhan was playing in the background while we were getting married. It felt like a divine intervention.”

In a new interview with ETimes, Sonakshi Sinha spoke about her married life with Zaheer Iqbal and said she wished the wedding could happen sooner, but added, “Better late than never.”

She said she was overjoyed about the wedding she had been waiting for for so long. The actress said it was like she was finally home. She enjoys spending time with Zaheer and calls the two true best friends.

“So, I love being at work, being myself and running home and going to him. I wish it happened soon, but better late than never,” Sonakshi added.

Meanwhile, Sonakshi was recently seen in Kakuda. The film released on July 11. Directed by Munjya fame Aditya Sarpotdar, the film also starred Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem. Kakuda was produced by Ronnie Screwvala and is now streaming on ZEE5.
