Some rain and autumn mood expected in the Detroit Tigers playoff race

Fall is in the air, as is the excitement of the Detroit Tigers postseason at Comerica Park.

The Tigers’ final six games of the season will be played at their home stadium in the Motor City, and the weather has cooled down a bit for their wild-card run.

Here’s what the team, fans and Metro Detroit residents can expect in terms of weather over the next few days:

The “autumnal feeling” is expected to continue for the rest of the week, said Kyle Klein, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in White Lake.

Maximum temperatures of between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius are expected at least until Wednesday, said Klein. By the end of the week, maximum temperatures could be above 25 degrees Celsius.

There could be scattered showers during the day Tuesday before the evening game against the Tampa Bay Rays. There is also a chance of a thunderstorm or two in the area in the afternoon or evening, with lightning and gusts, Klein said. However, a severe weather forecast has not yet been issued.

The rain is expected to stop early Wednesday, Klein said.

The rest of the week is expected to remain dry. There is currently a slight chance of rain over the weekend, but there is still time for changes, said Klein.

By the looks of things, Tigers fans won’t have too much trouble going to games against the Rays or Chicago White Sox. And there are still tickets available for sale.
