Social media reactions to Conor McGregor’s sister’s wedding at Cashel Palace Hotel

The town of Cashel was abuzz with activity as talk turned to the celebrity wedding of the year, which took place at the Cashel Palace Hotel on Saturday as Erin McGregor, sister of Conor McGregor, tied the knot.

But there was a lot of excitement on social media about the celebrity wedding, especially after news emerged that she was rumoured to have visited the local Tesco.

On Facebook, one user said: “Great news! If only she had had her club card with her and had taken advantage of all the great bargains at Tesco.”

Another said: “These Clubcard offers are really cool. I’m stocking up on 3 for €4 right now.”

Another joked: “Why? Does she usually shop at Dunnes?”

The sister of MMA fighter and whisky tycoon Conor McGregor chose the five-star Cashel Palace hotel as the secret venue for her upcoming wedding.

The star of the television show “Dancing with the Stars” got engaged to his long-term partner Terry Kavanagh in December 2022. In recent months, excitement has been building in Cashel as the wedding draws ever closer. Now the big day is here and a fireworks display is planned for Saturday evening.

On Saturday, councillor Liam Browne said: “To raise awareness of the celebrity wedding at the palace, there will be a fireworks display at 10pm.”

“I know people have different views on this… I love them, some hate them, but some people might want to care for animals, so keep your eyes open.”

The town is used to hosting big names and the five-star Cashel Palace Hotel has become a firm favourite since it reopened a few years ago after a long closure.

In recent months, big names such as Irish rugby star Robbie Henshaw, his wife Sophie Marren and guests celebrated their wedding in the beautiful town of Tipperary.

On this occasion, other members of the Irish national rugby team visited local pubs such as Foley’s and Bailey’s Hotel, where they mingled with locals and wedding guests.

Over the years, famous names such as the Kennedys, Alex Ferguson, Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor and others have visited and stayed at the iconic hotel in the heart of Tipperary, which was once the home of the area’s Archbishop.
