Simone Biles reacts to the shocking TV numbers in women’s sports at the Olympic Games in Paris

After what many consider to be a successful Olympic Games for the US team, Simone Biles has commented on the astonishing television numbers for women’s sport at the Olympic Games.

Biles placed five pairs of eye emojis next to a graphic highlighting the achievements of women’s sports in Paris, with a heavy dose of Team USA.

The graphic shows that over 66,000 fans attended the opening match of the women’s rugby competition, which is a world record.

The U.S. women’s basketball team’s game against Japan drew three million viewers on Peacock and the U.S. combined, more than all basketball games at the Tokyo Olympics except the gold medal games.

The Olympic women’s soccer final between Teams USA and Brazil averaged 9 million viewers and was the most watched Olympic soccer game in NBC history.

To top it all off, the live broadcast of the women’s gymnastics team final, in which Biles led the U.S. team to a gold medal, drew 12.7 million viewers on NBC and Peacock.

That number is higher than the first round of the NFL Draft and any NBA Finals game last year.

At 27, Biles was the oldest member of the American gymnastics team and left Paris with four medals, three gold and one silver. She also cemented her status as one of the greatest American athletes of this generation.

The continued success attracted more spectators: The American women’s soccer team did not lose a single game in Paris and won its first Olympic gold medal since 2012. The US men’s team was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Morocco.

Both U.S. basketball teams won gold medals and the U.S. women’s rugby sevens team won its first bronze medal.

Biles has not yet commented on whether Paris was the end of her Olympic career or whether she will stay fit enough to try to qualify for Team USA at age 31 when the spectacle takes place in Los Angeles in 2028.
