Shohei Ohtani’s historic first season with the Dodgers

Shohei Ohtani historic first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers is reaching new heights.

He became the first player in major league history to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a season, surpassing both milestones. in the 20:4 victory on Thursday evening about the Miami Marlins.

Ohtani went 50-50 in his 150th game, hitting three home runs and striking out 51, stealing two bases and striking out 51.

He became the sixth player in Major League history and the fastest of all time to reach 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in just 126 games.

He is the only player to reach the 40-40 mark in a game. And he did it in style: On August 23, he scored the decisive victory with a grand slam with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Dodgers have secured a postseason berth for the 12th consecutive year. This is nothing new for them, but it is for Ohtani. He has played 865 games without a postseason appearance, more than any other active player.

Ohtani made in Signing a 10-year contract worth $700 million with the Dodgers last December that the fight for the championship is his motivation.

“The ultimate goal is to get to the postseason and win the World Series,” he said last month.
