Three years ago, this 26-year-old woman and her 29-year-old husband officially married. But about three months before their big day, her brother Joe, now 30, made a shocking request.

More specifically, her brother – whom she considers the “golden child” of the family – asked if he could propose to his girlfriend during their wedding.

For most future spouses, big marriage proposals or wedding announcements are an absolute taboo. She and her husband felt the same way.

Therefore, her husband immediately rejected the idea and told her brother flatly no.

“He explained to my brother that the day was meant to be a celebration of our union and not a celebration of Joe’s relationship with his girlfriend,” she recalls.

However, because her brother was the favorite of the family, he was eventually able to win over the parents. Later that same afternoon, her mother even called her and claimed that her husband’s behavior had been inappropriate.

Her mother felt that her husband had gone too far by confronting Joe and rejecting the marriage proposal in this way.

She, on the other hand, believed that her husband had the right to do so, so she told her mother to leave her alone and hung up.

But even after all that, her brother acted against her will and still proposed to his girlfriend on their wedding day.
