“I really wanted to create something that felt organic to me, both in tone and in characters, so I think that
here is certainly the power and a connection to something greater than our individual self
. And the way that can empower us, those themes, combined with visual pleasure and wish fulfillment, that’s Star Wars to me.”

Shawn Levy will not venture into space alone. The director worked with screenwriter Jonathan Tropper to develop the film’s script. Levy and Tropper already have a close professional relationship, having previously worked together on the Netflix original sci-fi film The Adam Project (with Ryan Reynolds). The couple is currently in the early stages of developing their war of stars Project.
