Sharp HealthCare and Palomar Health partner to expand service in North County

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Sharp HealthCare and Palomar Health are entering into a new partnership to expand services in North County.

According to a press release, the expanded services include inpatient, outpatient and hospital services.

Sharp plans to expand its network in North County, including primary care and medical specialties. Palomar patients will have access to Sherp’s specialized services not available in Palomar.

Areas of expertise include transplants, advanced oncology procedures and more, the press release added.

“We are honored to partner with such a respected organization,” said Diane Hansen, president and CEO of Palomar Health. “By collaborating and reimagining health care to make it even more accessible, we can close gaps in health care, offer more comprehensive care options and ensure our patients receive the highest standard of care close to home. We expect the program to be mature and operational within 12 months.”

Chris Howard, President and CEO of Sharp, also issued the following statement:

Sharp is very excited about our new collaboration, which is based on Palomar and Sharp’s shared commitment to high-quality care, effective service delivery, exceptional patient experience and reducing the cost of care. County hospitals like Palomar Health are vital to the communities they serve, and as we have proven through our long-standing partnership with Sharp Grossmont Hospital, we will work together to ensure this partnership meets the healthcare needs of North County.
