Shaboozey will be named New Artist of the Year 2024 at the People’s Choice Country Awards

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter may not have been in attendance at this year’s People’s Choice Country Awards, but her acclaimed project Cowboy Carter and its collaborators were recognized throughout the show.

The second annual People’s Choice Country Awards, held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville and hosted by Shania Twain, honored the biggest and best country music has to offer with 18 awards chosen entirely by fans .

This year, Beyoncé became the top contender in the fan-voted awards with a total of twelve nominations. She took home no awards; However, several of the other artists featured in “Cowboy Carter” received nominations and won major awards throughout the evening.

Shaboozey, who appears on “Spaghettii” and “Sweet Honey Buckiin’,” took home the new artist and new artist song awards for his hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” And he was sure to thank Beyoncé as he accepted his award.

The Nigerian-American singer-songwriter has had a successful year since collaborating with the megastar. At this year’s awards ceremony, “‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)” was nominated for Song of the Year 2024 and Male Song. He also received nominations for the music video “Let it Burn,” the album “Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going” and the crossover song “My Fault” with Noah Cyrus.

“Cowboy Carter” collaborators Brittney Spencer, Tanner Adell, Tiera Kennedy and Reyna Roberts also received nominations for cover song and collaboration song, along with Beyoncé. The ladies can all be heard in their song “Blackbiird”.

Miley Cyrus and Beyoncé also received a crossover song nomination for their fan-favorite duet “II Most Wanted.”

Post Malone, who collaborated with Beyoncé on “Levii’s Jeans,” won song of the year 2024 for his hit with Morgan Wallen, “I Had Some Help.”

Malone was nominated twice for the music video, for the Wallen duet and for his song “Pour Me A Drink” with Blake Shelton. “I Had Some Help” was also nominated for crossover song.

As fans know, Beyoncé first announced “Cowboy Carter” during a surprise Super Bowl commercial. Since then, she has broken many records and made history, and it is clear that her progress will have a long-term impact on the country music industry and the music industry as a whole.

The 16-track project has been a huge catalyst for bringing black country artists and the genre’s roots into the spotlight recently.

Ahead of the release of “Cowboy Carter,” Beyoncé spoke about the creation of the projects and her struggles within the country music genre.

In a post she wrote: “This album has been in the works for over five years. It came from an experience I had years ago where I felt unwelcome… and it was very clear that I wasn’t.
