A severe weather warning has been issued for the entire three states until 8 p.m., as another wave of storms is expected on Tuesday afternoon.
We are in a rainy period and today is the day with the highest chance of precipitation. We can expect some strong to severe storms this afternoon.
TIMING:
- Now until 5pm – New showers and thunderstorms are coming through, some will be heavy
- 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. – Isolated showers are still possible, not so strong on the radar, not so strong
There was widespread rain early on Tuesday and isolated showers are expected for the rest of the morning under predominantly cloudy skies.
A new round of showers and thunderstorms will develop in the early afternoon. Then we could see some stronger storms in today’s system. This includes the risk of heavy hail, damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes. This will last from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Any precipitation after 6 p.m. will be isolated and not as heavy.
On Wednesday, clouds will remain and there is a slight chance of rain. There will only be isolated showers, but it will be another cloudy day. Temperatures will be around 26 degrees.
Tropical moisture is next on the agenda and a storm that will become Helene is coming up from the Gulf of Mexico. We could see some scattered showers from this system as early as Thursday, but it looks like Friday is the more likely window for precipitation from this system in our area. It will linger in the Ohio Valley for several days!
