We already know that Olympia, the eldest daughter of Alexis Ohanian and Serena Williams, is a little sports fanatic like her mother, who likes golf and many other sports. However, she will not enter the world of professional sports until this happens, and her parents insist on it.

While speaking at ADWEEK’s Brandweek conference on People, Ohanian answered a question from the audience about whether Olympia would one day become a professional sports star like her mother.

“We watched the 2019 World Cup final from our rented house in Wimbledon,” he recalls. “Olympia was walking around in her Alex Morgan jersey and I said, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if she played on a national team one day?'”

He added: “And Serena was like, ‘Not until she pays what she’s worth.’ And I was like, ‘Touché, okay, challenge accepted.’ And that’s what motivated me to buy a team and be part of the change.”

(In July 2020, Williams and Ohanian purchased a stake in the National Women’s Soccer League’s Angel City Football Club, also in Olympia’s name, making her the youngest person to co-own a professional sports team.)

For those who don’t know, Williams met Ohanian in 2015 and the two married in New Orleans in 2017. Later that year, Williams gave birth to her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. (better known as Olympia), who was born in September 2017, and later another daughter named Adira River, who was born in August 2023.

“The new baby is amazing. I have to say, I’m obsessed with her. Oh my God, she’s so sweet. She’s just the best, I love her,” Williams said via People, revealing that Olympia always wanted a little sister. “That’s one thing Olympia has always said – I want a sister.”
