Could there be a new No. 1 team in college football in Week 3?

Georgia hasn’t lost its top spot in either the US LBM Coaches Poll or the AP Top 25, defeating Tennessee Tech 48-3 on Saturday. But Texas’ dominant win over No. 9 Michigan on Saturday may have some voters rethinking their Top 25.

The Longhorns, ranked No. 3 before Week 2, beat the defending national champions 31-12 on the road on Saturday, with third-year starting quarterback and Heisman Trophy contender Quinn Ewers passing for 246 yards and three touchdowns. Texas would have to overtake both Georgia and Ohio State to take the top spot.

Tennessee was also on the winning track against No. 23 NC State, defeating the Wolfpack 51-10 thanks to 211 passing yards and two passing touchdowns from new quarterback Nico Iamaleava.

Elsewhere, No. 4 Alabama earned a narrow 42-16 win over South Florida that wasn’t nearly as dominant as the score suggests. It wasn’t the only Crimson team to struggle Saturday, as No. 13 Oklahoma also held off former Big 12 foe Houston, 16-12.

Here’s how these and other games affect SEC teams’ rankings in the polls ahead of Week 3 of the college football season:
