Sandbag sites will be opened this week throughout the Big Bend ahead of a possible tropical system

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Sandbag sites are set to open in the Big Bend this week in anticipation of a possible tropical storm. The National Hurricane Center released forecasts Monday that potential Tropical Cyclone 9 could bring heavy rains to northern Florida and southern Georgia.

• Fred George Park, 3043 Capital Circle NW

Leon County will staff these sites from dawn to dusk to help residents fill sandbags quickly. Sand, bags and bands will be available for the public to use. Residents are asked to limit their sandbags to 15 per household to ensure others benefit, officials said.
