Samsung phone owners share a small tweak that makes the device “much faster” – just disable the “always” setting for the “Favorites” boost

This changes the way your Samsung Galaxy phone handles animations.

The trick was revealed in a Reddit thread that asked Samsung fans which settings they “always enable/disable” when buying a new phone.

Samsung owners responded with a huge list of settings they could tweak.

However, one of the most popular changes was enabling developer settings and then disabling animations.

One user, whose post received dozens of upvotes, said the change made his phone “a lot faster.”

How to speed up your Samsung phone with an animation trick

It’s an easy change, but you need to enable developer settings first.

This is a hidden menu that you must unlock with a special tap sequence.

Samsung explains: “The Developer options menu lets you configure system behavior to improve app performance.

“On most Android devices, the developer options menu is hidden by default.”

To enable it, go to Settings > About device (or About phone) > Software information.

Every Samsung owner has been told never to break the “20% rule” or the battery life will last forever – here’s how to best charge your phone

Then tap the build number seven times in a row.

You will then be asked to enter your PIN, password or unlock pattern to enable developer settings.

This only needs to be done once and then it will be permanently activated.

Just make sure the Developer Options switch is set to the On position.

Once you’re done, you can change the speed of your phone’s animations.

There are three of them you should look at: window scales, transition scales and animator scales.

The default setting is 1x, but for a quick increase you can try changing it to 0.5x.

It is also possible to turn off animations completely.

At the processor level, you’re not really making the phone run faster.

However, this makes the phone feel snappier, as if it really is working faster.

This is because the navigation animations on your phone end more quickly (or don’t start at all if you turn them off).

You may not like the way it looks, so try it out to see how it feels.

Make sure you leave developer options enabled for quick access

FANS-FAVORITE SAMSUNG SETTINGS

Animation speed wasn’t the only setting Samsung fans admitted to preferring.

Here are some other popular settings tweaks that have been made:

One user admitted to having turned off adaptive brightness, which means the phone doesn’t automatically choose how bright or dark the screen gets.

Another said he turned off the keypad sounds to make phone calls more relaxing.

Samsung charging tip – How to charge best

Here is the official advice from Samsung…

To get the most out of your smartphone battery, you need to charge it properly.

Most smartphones have a lithium-ion battery that lasts longer when charged regularly.

Unlike the nickel batteries used in older phones, lithium-ion batteries work best when their charge is above 50 percent.

If you repeatedly fully discharge the battery, its lifespan may be shortened and its overall capacity may decrease.

In this case, you will need to charge the battery more frequently and it may only last a few hours before needing to be recharged.

Leaving the phone connected to the charger during use (when it is fully charged) may reduce battery life with repeated use.

And one user said he changed the charging limit setting at 80%.

It is designed to save your battery Health – You wrote: “I want my phone to last as long as possible.

“And these days, it’s usually the battery that makes you need a new phone.”
