Samantha cries as she takes her marriage vows to Chaitanya: “You will be a perfect father to our child”
Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya were once the most sought-after couples in Tollywood. The duo formed an amazing friendship during Ye Maaya Chesave and were often spotted together. Samantha and Naga Chaitanya married on October 6, 2017, according to Hindu and Christian rituals. However, in 2021, rumors emerged that the Tollywood power couple was having problems in their marriage.
Finally, four days before their fourth wedding anniversary, Samantha and Chaitanya released an official statement ending their marriage, leaving a devastated fanbase. Soon after their divorce, rumors of an affair between Chaitanya and actress Sobhita Dhulipala started doing the rounds. But the duo never responded to it. To everyone’s surprise and shock, Chaitanya and Sobhita got engaged in an intimate ceremony on August 8, 2024.

Now, a clip of Chaitanya and his ex-wife Samatha Ruth Prabhu from their wedding is doing the rounds, in which the stunning actress is seen getting emotional as she takes her wedding vows. In the viral clip, which is from the couple’s Christian wedding, Samantha wore a white dress while Chaitanya looked dapper in a black suit.
As she took her vows, Samatha took a moment, wiped away her tears and said that Chaitanya would be a “perfect father” to her child. In her words:
“Like that all arguments are resolved without a tone of voice and that I must never get away with anything other than crying. But because of you, I can feel myself slowly and surely becoming what I have always dreamed of. You are the greatest man I have ever known and I know that one day you will be a perfect father to our beautiful child. I will choose you in a hundred lifetimes and a hundred worlds and in every reality. I choose you.”

When Samantha Ruth Prabhu spoke about her feelings for Chaitanya after her divorce
Samantha was devastated after her breakup with Naga Chaitanya and her anger was clearly visible when she appeared in one of the episodes of Coffee with Karan 7. When host Karan Johar asked her if she and her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya harbored any grudges against each other, the actress confirmed it and said:
“There are hard feelings when you put the two of us in a room, you have to hide sharp objects. So, right now, yes. Right now, it’s not a friendly situation. It could be in the future.”

After Samantha and Chaitanya’s breakup, rumours of Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita’s relationship started doing the rounds on the internet after they were spotted together in Hyderabad. As time went by, their close bond started to attract attention and netizens even found them vacationing together in Europe in June 2024, which further increased speculations about their relationship.
For the unaware, Naga Chaitanya’s father Nagarjuna announced the news of his son’s engagement with Sobhita under his X-name. In an interview with Times Now, Nagarjuna spoke about Naga Chaitanya’s engagement with Sobhita and how depressed Chay was after his breakup with Samantha. In his words:
“It went very, very well. Chay is happy again. He is very happy. Me too! It was not an easy time for Chay and the family. The separation from Samantha left him very depressed. My boy doesn’t show his feelings to anyone. But I knew he was unhappy. To see him smile again… Sobhita and Chay are a wonderful couple. They love each other very much.”
