After the preseason, the Kansas City Chiefs signed running back Samaje Perine to strengthen the depth of their backfield.
Perine is a seasoned veteran who rushed for 693 yards on 53 carries and 50 passes caught during his time with the Denver Broncos last season and could be a boon to Kansas City’s offense if he can repeat his 2023 performance this year.
Perine was interviewed in the locker room on Monday and shared details about the signing process with the club and how he feels about joining the reigning Super Bowl champions.
Sports Radio 810 WHB shared this video of his comments in a post on Twitter:

Although he is expected to play for the Chiefs in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, it remains unclear what role Perine will play in Andy Reid’s offense.
Stay tuned to see if he makes his debut in Kansas City.
