Former USC Trojans quarterback Sam Darnold and wide receiver Jordan Addison are now scoring touchdowns for the Minnesota Vikings. The 3-0 Vikings headed to Lambeau to face division rival, the 2-1 Green Bay Packers. The up-and-coming Vikings are one of the biggest surprises of the National Football League’s young season so far, and one of the catalysts for the great start has been the resurgence of Darnold.

The former USC Trojan quarterback entered the divisional contest with an NFL lead of eight passing touchdowns. The Green Bay Packer defense was one of the best in the league and is known for its aggressiveness. Shortly before the contest, it was announced that Green Bay’s All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander was out due to injury.

The Viking passing game was expected to play a big role, and it showed early for the Minnesota offense. Wide receiver Jordan Addison, another former USC Trojan, was on the receiving end of a 29-yard strike from Darnold to take an early 7-0 lead on the road.

Shortly after receiving Darnold’s touchdown, Addison stormed into the end zone and scored his second score of the day. The Vikings currently lead the Green Bay Packers 28-0 in the first half.

Addison is back in action for the first time since the season opener against the New York Giants after suffering a lingering ankle injury. The USC duo wants to maintain their form and potentially develop into a consistent quarterback and wide receiver duo, the counterpart to star wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
