SALISBURY – Corlis “CoCo” Phifer, housekeeper at Trinity Oaks senior living community, and Janice Osborne, pharmacy technician at LSA Pharmacy, both of Salisbury, received the Lutheran Services Carolinas Loyal Service (LSC) Award for 2024.

This award recognizes team members who fulfill the organization’s mission by serving clients and residents in exceptional ways. Only seven of over 2,500 team members from the Carolinas are honored each year.

LSC is a nonprofit organization that serves more than 10,000 residents of North and South Carolina. It offers a range of services including foster care and adoption, mental health and refugee resettlement programs, disaster relief, and more. In addition, LSC operates 11 senior living communities and other senior services in North Carolina and offers rehabilitation programs in South Carolina.

Phifer has been with LSC since 1998 and was nominated by Bill Johnson, CEO of Trinity Oaks.

“CoCo has always been reliable, punctual, loyal and had a positive demeanor throughout her many years of service,” said Johnson. “She provides the very best service to her beloved residents. Her pleasant friendliness, quick wit and easy laugh put people at ease. She shows grace in action every day.”

Osborne has been with LSC since 2004 and was nominated by pharmacy technician Georgia Kendall.

“Once you get to know Janice Osborne, you won’t forget her,” said Kendall. “She is a joy to be around. Janice’s teammates enjoy working with her and we all miss her when she goes on vacation. Everything she does is for the benefit of others. Janice always gives her best.”

Phifer and Osborne received their awards at a luncheon on June 20 at Trinity Oaks.

“Our Loyal Service Award winners are the heart and soul of LSC,” said Ted W. Goins Jr., LSC President and CEO. “They embody our corporate vision, which is set forth in John 10:10: ‘I have come that they might have life, and have it more abundantly.'”
