Rupert Everett is officially married.

The My best friend’s wedding Star confirmed that he married his long-time partner, a Brazilian accountant named Henrique, earlier this summer.

The couple kept the ceremony private, exchanging vows at London’s Camden Town Hall and then having lunch at local Italian restaurant Ciao Bella.

The 65-year-old actor revealed the wedding in a new cover story for British magazine Tatler.

Although the two have been together for 15 years, Everett was initially hesitant to walk down the aisle.

“I’ve always hated weddings, even though I love funerals. But as you get older… I’ve seen so many issues that gay couples face, so it’s really more about thinking ahead since we’ve been together for a long time now,” Everett admitted to the outlet.

“And I don’t know how long I can last. Well, I’m tall and I’ve never seen a 95-year-old, 6-foot-5 person. You just never know what’s going to happen.”

That same year, he revealed that he was already thinking about making his relationship with Henrique official. “Actually, I wouldn’t mind getting married now,” Everett told the Times. “I would marry my boyfriend. However, I would only invite two or three people to my wedding.”

Four years later, that statement came true and now they are happily married.
