Royal bride shines in transparent wedding dress with cape and family heirloom – first photos
One year after the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein to Princess Rajwa, the Jordanian royal family has another reason to celebrate: Hussein’s cousin Aoun Juma has married Lena bint Wail Abbas.
Photographed in a stunning outdoor setting surrounded by trees, flowerbeds and an impressive sandstone building, King Abdullah II’s nephew wore a midnight blue suit and matching tie and flashed a broad smile as he gave his new wife a hand.
The bride looked gorgeous in her ornate satin gown with a square neckline, thick straps and sheer floor-length cape sleeves. Neat rows of pearls ran down the bodice and tapered at the navel, giving the impression of a medieval-style corset dress. This resulted in more spaced-out pearl patterns on the skirt, while small pearl chains ran from the shoulders over the cape.
Although Lena did not wear a tiara, she enhanced the glamour with soft Hollywood waves in her hair, silver bracelets around her wrist and a matching necklace with three teardrop-shaped gemstones.
The necklace appears to have been on loan from Aoun’s mother, Princess Aisha, who wore the piece on her own wedding day to her ex-husband Zeid Juma in 1990.
Aoun’s aunt, Princess Alia Al Hussein, posted the photo on Instagram with the sweet caption: “Congratulations and all the best to my dear nephew Aoun and his beautiful bride Lena.”
The Queen and the granddaughter of Mahmoud Abbas, the President of Palestine, announced their engagement in February 2024. They shared photos of themselves smiling and exchanging rings, with Lena giving a glimpse of her bridal style.
She wore a pastel pink column dress with a straight neckline and cape sleeves, similar to the ones she wore on her wedding day. This one was even more sparkly, with floral and leaf arrangements made of lace and pearls adorning the sheer fabric along the entire length.

Among those present was Crown Prince Hussein, who had recently had a baby with his wife.
Hussein and Saudi architect Rajwa announced their engagement in August 2022 and tied the knot on June 1, 2023, at Zahran Palace in Amman. She wore a custom white Elie Saab dress featuring a figure-hugging column silhouette with an asymmetrical neckline, a ruffled bodice, and a long embroidered train at the waist.
The ceremony was attended by around 140 guests, including Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary as well as the Dutch kings King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima and Princess Catharina-Amalia.
The newlyweds then travelled to Al Husseiniya Palace for their wedding reception, where Rajwa slipped into her second wedding dress by Dolce & Gabbana. See the stunning royal wedding guests…
In April, the Royal Hashemite Court announced that the couple was expecting their first child; their daughter, Princess Iman, was born on August 3 at the King Hussein Medical Center in Amman.
Very few photos have been released from Aoun and Lena’s wedding, but it is possible that new mother Princess Rajwa decided to stay at home with her newborn.
