ROMULUS director wants to hire PREY director for new ALIEN VS. PREDATOR crossover film

Alien: Romulus has received rave reviews from fans and critics and provided the film does well at the box officewe can imagine that a sequel will soon be a priority for Disney-owned 20th Century Studios.

The studio has previously Predator Franchise with preya film that was a huge success on Hulu and will soon be released with a sequel and a spin-off. wasteland (the latter will probably star Elle Fanning).

Both franchises languished for years, thanks to lousy reboots, sequels, prequels… and crossovers. Neither Alien vs Predator The film was particularly good (although it was long awaited by science fiction fans), but could another one follow at some point?

In conversation with Deadline support financially Alien: RomulusThe filmmaker Fede Álvarez suggested him and prey Director Dan Trachtenberg could form a team to pit the Xenomorphs against the Yautja.

“Maybe it’s something I have to direct with my buddy Dan,” suggested Álvarez. “Maybe we should do what Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez did with Dusk Till Dawn. I’ll direct half of it and he’ll direct the other half.”

“From the directors of Alien: Romulus and Prey” sounds pretty good, don’t you think?

Although it was not well received by critics, Alien vs Predator grossed $177.4 million worldwide in 2004 and the sequel, Aliens vs Predators: Requiemgrossed $130.2 million worldwide in 2007.

If that happens, it shouldn’t be for very long. Both franchises are still in their early stages, and after so many disappointments, it’s important that they both establish themselves before jumping into a crossover that pits them against each other.

The sci-fi/horror thriller takes the phenomenally successful Foreigner Franchise back to its roots: While combing the depths of an abandoned space station, a group of young space colonizers encounter the most terrifying life form in the universe.

The main roles in the film are played by Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla), David Jonsson (Agatha Christie’s murder is simple), Archie Renaux (Shadows and Bones), Isabela Merced (The Last of Us), Spike Fearn (After sun), Aileen Wu. Fede Alvarez (evil Dead) directs from a screenplay he wrote together with Rodo Sayagues (Don’t breathe 2) based on characters created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett.

Alien: Romulus is produced by Ridley Scott (Napoleon), who directed the original film “Alien” and produced and directed the subsequent episodes of the series Prometheus And Alien: CovenantMichael Pruss (Boston Strangler) and Walter Hill (Foreigner), with Fede Alvarez, Elizabeth Cantillon (Charlie’s Angels), Brent O’Connor (High-speed train) and Tom Moran (Unstoppable) as executive producers.

The film is now in cinemas.
