“It’s really hard for me to talk about this,” Field said, since her mother is also a breast cancer survivor.

The TV personality, who lives with her husband in London, spoke openly about the family’s difficulties dealing with the diagnosis privately.

Despite the difficult news, Field shared her mother’s desire for a positive narrative, telling Loose Women: “My mother said, ‘I want you to tell this story so badly, I just want to make sure it’s positive.’ I will do mine.’ the best and I will make it positive.’”

Field’s determination to honor her mother’s request was clear as she spoke.

The actress and TV personality highlighted the strength and courage her mother has shown during this challenging time.

“This is a fight,” she later wrote on social media. “And what my mother lost in hair and weight, she more than gained in strength and bravery.”

This isn’t Gwen’s first battle with cancer, as in 2020, Field revealed on Williams’ podcast “At Home With the Williamses” that her mother had been diagnosed with an aggressive cervical tumor.

“It had spread outside the cervix,” she explained at the time. “Along with her Parkinson’s disease and her lupus, there was also this battle with cancer.”
