Rob Schneider receives wedding request – “Hope this was sent to all guests”

Rob Schneider is known for sharing his political views on social media, and now he has been asked to avoid discussions about the 2024 election at his wedding later this year.

Once known primarily as Saturday Night Live As a former comedian, the comedian often makes headlines these days for his stance on vaccinations and his opinions on various social and political issues.

Schneider switched from Democrats to Republicans before declaring himself an “independent” who is “more conservative now.” He endorsed anti-vaccine independent candidate Robert Kennedy Jr., who dropped out of the campaign on Friday and endorsed former President Donald Trump.

Late Tuesday, Schneider posted on X (formerly Twitter) about a note he received in a wedding invitation asking him to refrain from any political discussion – and he also used the opportunity to announce his tour dates.

Newsweek contacted a spokesman for Schneider via email on Wednesday for comment.

“I hope this was sent to ALL guests, not just ME!” he wrote, before adding: “RobSchneider.com for tour dates…”

Alongside the caption, he shared a photo of a note he received in a wedding invitation that read “ATTENTION” at the top.

“Dear guests,” the note continued, “our wedding falls directly on a national election. We value all of our loved ones, regardless of their political affiliation. Please honor us by keeping politics and election results out of the conversation.”

Schneider covered the sender of the message with his thumb.

The comment received a mixed response from commentators, with some agreeing with the idea.

“This is so sensible. I love it. Congratulations to the happy couple!” wrote Jay Bhattacharya, a professor at Stanford School of Medicine.

Others, however, were more critical. One wrote: “Wear a Trump tie and let that speak for itself (he will have already won) while you just walk around with a permanent grin.”

Schneider frequently shares his political opinions on X and previously revealed that one of his political social media posts had a negative impact on his career.

During an appearance in the July 12 episode of Free spaces for people Podcast, the comedian told host Matt Kibbe that his post about Hillary Clinton after the 2016 presidential election cost him work.

After Trump was appointed acting president, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo Star wrote: “I haven’t seen the Democrats this shitty since we freed the slaves.”

Schneider told Kibbe that he had been “working a lot less” after the tweet about Clinton.

“I sent out a tweet after Hillary Clinton lost that went viral like crazy,” he said. “Like 30 million, like it was just a thing, and of course the Democrats absolutely hated it.”

In February, Schneider spoke at a fundraiser for Kennedy Jr., who originally ran against Joe Biden in the presidential primaries.

“I’m trying to find a new way to make sure Hollywood never hires me for a movie again,” Schneider said, suggesting that his support for Kennedy Jr. cost him more work and that most of Hollywood plans to vote for Biden.

Schneider is a longtime opponent of childhood vaccinations and has previously been accused of spreading misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines on social media. In July, he also criticized the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris for including drag queens.
