Road construction report for the week commencing 12 August 2024

HERKIMER COUNTY

City of Manheim/City of St. Johnsville: (D#265084) Route 5 between Snells Bush Road and Old State Road. Drivers traveling in both directions on the bridge over East Canada Creek should expect long-term shoulder closures.

Village of Herkimer: (D#265230) South Washington Street (Route 922B) between Route 5 (E/W State Street) and Route 5S. Motorists in both directions should expect lane closures and traffic signage due to drainage system and manhole cover changes, curb ramp repairs/replacements, and milling and paving activities.

Russia Township, Ohio Township: (D#264956) Route 8 between Military Road and Route 365. Motorists should expect lane closures in both directions and dispatchers on site due to deficiencies.

Village of West Winfield: (D#265131) Route 20 between Route 51 and Stafford Road. Due to sewer work, roadway and/or shoulder closures in both directions are in place as dispatchers are on site.

City of Newport: (D#265084) Route 28 between White Creek Road and Castle Road. Lane closures in both directions and flag posts are in place due to shoulder replacement. Temporary flashing yellow lights will be installed for one week.

ONEIDA COUNTY

Village of New Hartford: (D#264929) Genesee Street between Golf Ave and Richardson Ave. Motorists should expect lane closures and dispatch in both directions as work is being done on pedestrian lights, traffic signals, sidewalks and curbs. Paving work and adjustments to drainage and manholes.

Village of New York Mills, Town of New Hartford, City of Utica: (D#265230) Burrstone Road between Main Street and Notre Dame Lane. Motorists should expect lane closures in both directions as traffic signs are in place for paving, striping and topsoil work.

City of Utica: (D#265179) North Genesee Street between Auert Ave and Weaver Street. Motorists should expect daily lane closures between Weaver Street and Auert Ave northbound due to work on the I-790 eastbound exit ramp to North Genesee Street southbound. The I-790 eastbound exit ramp and Thruway exit ramp to North Genesee Street southbound will also be closed daily. The eastbound sidewalk between WellNow Urgent Care and Auert Ave will be closed to pedestrians. Pedestrians will be redirected to use the westbound sidewalk. On North Genesee Street northbound between the NYS Thruway exit ramp and Auert Ave, the right lane will be closed continuously Monday, 8/12 through Friday, 8/16 due to curb and barrier removal and replacement.

City of Utica: (D#265179) Route 5S between Cornelia Street and Broad Street. Due to median work, the left lane is closed in both directions.

City of Verona: (D#264143) Route 46 between Route 316 (Lake Road) and Route 31. The road is completely closed to motorists, a detour is posted due to a bridge replacement. The detour goes via Routes 31 and 316.

City of Bridgewater: (D#265084) Route 8 at Route 20. Motorists should expect shoulder closures due to culvert cleaning.

City of Utica (BIN 4051710) North Genesee Street between Wurz Ave and Weaver Street. Due to the inspection of the bridge over the Mohawk River, motorists should expect lane closures in both directions.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY

City of Florida: (D#264940) Route 5S between Main Street and Target Ave. Motorists will experience lane closures/lane shifts in both directions as traffic signals are installed for shoulder support material and biofilter swales installation. There will also be a long-term eastbound shoulder closure throughout the week.

City of Root: (D#265133) Route 162 via Canyon Road. Canyon Road will be closed in the area of ​​the bridge. The reason for this is the replacement of the road surface on Route 162. Route 162 will be closed between Route 5S and Flat Creek Road. A signed detour will be set up via Route 5S via Route 30A to Route 162.

Village of Palatine Bridge: Route 5 between Route 10 and Route 80. Eastbound motorists will experience a lane closure/lane shift with flagging due to debugging and sidewalk removal and installation.

City of Amsterdam: E. Main Street (Route 5) @ Vrooman Ave. Due to gas line work, a lane closure is scheduled for motorists in both directions.

Village of Canajoharie: (D#265260) Route 5S between Mitchell Street and Cunningham Road. Due to mobilization, sign placement, and modification of drainage structures, motorists in both directions should expect lane changes.

Canajoharie Village: (D#265260) Moyer Street (Route 920T) between Montgomery Street and Maple Ave. Motorists will experience lane changes in both directions due to mobilization, sign placement, and modification of drainage structures.

FULTON COUNTY

Town of Mayfield, Town of Broadalbin: Route 29 between Route 30 and the Saratoga County line. Lanes are closed in both directions due to paving work and traffic officers are on site.

HAMILTON COUNTY

Town of Arietta: (D#264867) Route 28 on the south bay of Raquette Lake. Drivers should expect lane closures in both directions as temporary signals are in constant use due to construction at the traffic light.

Town of Indian Lake: (D#265134) Route 30 over the Jessup River. Due to bridge and guardrail work, lanes are closed in both directions and temporary traffic signals are in place.

Town of Indian Lake: (D#265134) Route 30 over Squaw Brook. Due to bridge and guardrail work, lanes are closed in both directions and temporary traffic signals are in place.

City of Lake Pleasant: (D#265134) Route 30 over Lewey Lake. Due to bridge and guardrail work, lanes are closed in both directions and temporary traffic signals are in place.

*Guardrail work is taking place at various locations on Route 30 in Hamilton County. Drivers should expect lane and shoulder closures as traffic officers are on site.

*Crack sealing work is being carried out on various routes in Montgomery and Fulton County. There will be short-term lane closures/lane shifts with flags. All work is weather dependent.

*Road markings will be performed on various routes in Oneida and Madison Counties. Lane shifts and possible lane closures with dispatch crews may occur. Work will be performed daily and overnight. All work is weather dependent.

*Bridge cleaning operations are taking place on various routes in Herkimer, Montgomery and Fulton counties. There will be brief lane closures with officers on duty. All work is weather dependent.
