It will be possible TIME OF DAY or NIGHT Lane closures at various locations in Region 4 to perform repairs or new installations as needed at various locations throughout the 21 counties.

District 47

BENTON COUNTY

I-40 Resurfacing of the road from SR 69 (MM 126) to the Humphreys County line (Tennessee River Bridge) will result in temporary NIGHT lane closures throughout the construction period.
*Temporary ramp closures are to be expected throughout the project.

BENTON COUNTY

SR391 The repaving of US 70W (SR 1, LM 0.00) to US 70E (SR 1 LM 5.31) will result in temporary lane closures for the duration of the project.

CARROLL COUNTY

SR-76 (US-79) Grading, drainage, sound barriers, signals and paving on US 79 (SR 76) from near SR 77 (LM 1.89) to near Cutlip Lane (LM 7.29) will result in lane closures throughout the duration of the project.

DYER COUNTY

SR-20 Repairs to the US 412 (SR 20) bridge over the North Fork Forked Deer River will result in temporary lane closures for the duration of the project.

DYER COUNTY

SR-211 On the bridge over the North Fork Forked Deer River (south of Dyersburg), the outer lanes will be closed for inspection and evaluation beginning August 9, 2024.

GIBSON/CARROLL COUNTY

SR-76 (US-79) Grading, drainage, construction of a concrete box bridge, sound barrier, and paving on US 79 (SR 76) from west of Cades-Atwood Road in Gibson County to east of SR 77 in Carroll County will result in temporary lane closures for the duration of the project.

Barker Street is permanently closed at the intersection of the new SR 76 construction site, just north of Mt. Olive MB Church. A detour will be in place along Church St. until Jax Road reopens.

  1. Jax Street is now a dead end. Access is via the existing SR 76 and ends before the connection with the new SR 76.
  2. Jax Street is open and accessible via Oasis Road. Oasis Road becomes S. Jax Road after crossing the new SR 76.

HENRY/WEAKLEY COUNTY

SR-22 Resurfacing using HOT IN-PLACE RECYCLING on SR 22 from the Carroll County Line in Henry County to SR 217 in Weakley County will result in temporary lane closures for the duration of the project.

OBION COUNTY

Future I-69 (Phase 3) SR 690 (future I-69) is now open to traffic. The speed limit in the southbound lanes has been reduced to 45 mph for the interchange with US51. Construction crews will continue to work on closed ramps to complete construction.

WEAKLEY COUNTY

SR-445 The various safety improvements, including repavement of SR 445 from the Gibson County Line to near Losson Puckett Road, will result in temporary lane closures for the duration of the project.

District 48

GIBSON AND CROCKETT COUNTY

SR 152 from US 412 (SR 20) to US 70A (SR 366) The resurfacing of SR 152, including repairs to bridge expansion joints and bridge decks, will result in temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane will remain open at all times.

HARDIN COUNTY

SR 128 over the Pickwick Dam: The renovation of the bridge will result in temporary lane closures starting August 19, 2024. The lane closures will occur in the northbound and southbound lanes. One lane will always remain open. There are currently no restrictions on the width of the road.

HAYWOOD COUNTY

I-40 from MM 60 to 67 (near SR19 to Hawkins Lane)

Continues until Thursday, August 29, 7pm – 6am Due to paving work, I-40 in Haywood County will have overnight lane closures in both the eastbound and westbound directions between mile markers 60-67.

HAYWOOD COUNTY

SR 179 from US70 (SR1) to SR76 Full-Depth Reclamation (FDR) resurfacing on SR179 will result in temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane will remain open.

HENDERSON COUNTY

I-40 MM 100.0- MM101.4 (Exit 101) Continues through Friday, August 23, 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Due to geotechnical drilling for an upcoming project at Exit 101, there will be temporary eastbound and westbound lane closures on I-40 in Henderson County between MM 100.0 and MM 101.4.

Monday, August 26 to Thursday, August 29, 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Due to geotechnical drilling for an upcoming project at Exit 101, there will be temporary eastbound and westbound lane closures on I-40 in Henderson County between MM 100.0 and MM 101.4.

MADISON COUNTY

I-40 MM 77 eastbound via Forked Deer River Thursday, August 22, 7:30 p.m. – 4:00 a.m. TDOT Bridge Repair will repair the bridge deck of the bridge at MM77 eastbound over the Forked Deer River.

District 49

Fayette County

SR-222 including the I-40 junction (exit 42) Grading, drainage, signaling and paving work on SR 222 from Hebron Drive to near Thorpe Drive, including the 1-40 intersection (Exit 42), will result in temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane will remain open.

Continues until Friday, August 23, 6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. I-40 in Fayette County will experience intermittent lane closures eastbound and westbound between MM41 and MM43 for milling and paving work. There will also be temporary ramp closures for guardrail installation.

Sunday, August 25th to Thursday, August 29th, 6pm – 6pm I-40 in Fayette County will experience intermittent lane closures eastbound and westbound between MM41 and MM43 for milling and paving work. There will also be temporary ramp closures for guardrail installation.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY

US-51 (SR-3) from SR-88 to the Dyer County line: Due to paving work on US 51, lanes in both directions are temporarily closed. At least one lane in each direction will remain open.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY

US-51 (SR-3) from the Tipton County Line to SR-19 Due to paving work on US 51, lanes in both directions are temporarily closed. At least one lane in each direction will remain open.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY

SR-19 from US-51 (SR-3) to Near Eastland Avenue Due to asphalting work on SR 19, there will be temporary lane closures in both directions.

SHELBY COUNTY

I-55 at exit 7 (3rd Street) Thursday, August 22, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. The exit from I-55 S to 3rd The road will be closed due to the removal of vegetation.

SR-3 from near Babe Howard Boulevard to the Tipton County line, NIGHTLY, 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Due to paving work, lane closures will be temporarily closed on SR-3 from Babe Howard Blvd. to the Tipton County line. At least one lane in each direction will remain open.

SHELBY COUNTY

SR-4 from south of Shelby Drive (LM 1.10) to the Raines/Perkins Road interchange (LM 3.50) DAILY, 7:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. There will be temporary lane closures on SR-4 due to road widening work. At least one lane in each direction will remain open.

Affected routes (current)

Lamar Avenue (SR-4) The speed limit was reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph south of Shelby Drive to the intersection of Raines and Perkins Road.

Shelby Drive (SR-175) At the intersection with Lamar Avenue (SR-4), the speed limit was reduced from 45 mph to 35 mph.

Pleasant running street Closed to through traffic from Pleasant Hill Road. Pleasant Run Road is closed from Lamar Avenue (SR-4).

SHELBY COUNTY

SR-14 (Austin Peay Highway) from Kerrville-Rosemark Road to the Tipton County line The widening of SR-14 (Austin Peay Highway) from Kerrville-Rosemark to the Tipton County line will result in shoulder closures and temporary lane closures in both directions. Eastbound and westbound SR 14 will experience temporary lane closures daily for grading, drainage and paving work. Tracy Road, Mulberry Road and Gragg Road will be closed and a detour will be in place.

SHELBY COUNTY

I-240 at Exit 23 (Airways Boulevard) Until September 1, 2024 To improve safety, lane closures will be temporarily closed on Airways Boulevard and Ketchum Road. At least one lane in each direction will remain open.

TRAFFIC PATTERNS

The outside lane of I-55 SB will be closed from the west end of the I-55 bridge through the project site and the inside lane of SB will intersect at the east end of the I-55 bridge and share the current I-55 NB cloverleaf ramp with I-55 NB and utilize the inside lane of the future I-55 NB from the cloverleaf to the south end of the project.

  1. I-55 NB and SB will be single lanes in each direction and will run from the existing I55 NB loop to the new overpass.
  2. Riverside Dr. NB and SB closed from the EH Crump I55 interchange to W Carolina Avenue.
  3. The I-55 NB exit ramp to EH Crump remains closed.
  4. The I-55 NB exit ramp to I-55NB will be closed and traffic will be diverted to the new overpass.
  5. Wisconsin Avenue opens.
  6. Crump Boulevard from Kentucky St. to Metal Museum Drive will be closed.
  7. Metal Museum Drive from Alston to I-55 NB will be closed.
  8. The ramp from Channel 3 to Riverside Drive SB remains closed.
  9. The ramp to Channel 3 from Riverside Drive SB remains closed.

SHELBY COUNTY

SR-57 (Poplar Avenue) from Poplar View Parkway to Eastly Road DAILY, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. In Collierville, there will be lane closures on eastbound and westbound SR 57 to adjust the catch basins.

SR-57 (Poplar Avenue) from Poplar View Parkway to Eastly Road, nightly, 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. In Collierville, there will be lane closures on SR 57 eastbound and westbound due to striping work.

SHELBY COUNTY

SR-23 (Walnut Grove Road) from Poplar Avenue to I-240, daily 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Due to paving work, there will be overnight lane closures eastbound and westbound on Walnut Grove Road (SR 23) from Poplar Avenue to I-240. However, one lane will remain open in both directions.

SHELBY COUNTY

SR-385 from Ridgeway Road to Byhalia Road, NIGHTLY 8:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.

On SR 385 eastbound and westbound from Ridgeway to Byhalia, lanes will be temporarily closed to seal cracks in the roadway. At least one lane in each direction will remain open.

SHELBY COUNTY

Shelby Drive from Houston Levee Road to Byhalia Road, NIGHTLY 8:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.

There will be temporary lane closures on Shelby Drive eastbound and westbound from Houston Levee to Byhalia to seal cracks in the roadway.

TIPTON COUNTY

US-51 (SR-3) at the intersection of Kenwood Avenue There will be temporary inside and outside lane closures on Kenwood Avenue on northbound and southbound US 51. DAILY to improve safety. At least one lane will be open in each direction.
