Richard Gadd wins three awards, Baby Reindeer dominates

Not only did Baby Reindeer receive numerous awards, the hit series The Bear also won four awards.

In their opening monologue, father-son host duo Eugene and Dan Levy joked that the show – officially classified as a comedy – would be better categorized as a drama.

The series is about a celebrity chef (Jeremy Allen White) who returns to Chicago after the death of his brother to continue the family business.

Allen White described himself as “so, so, so happy” after winning the Emmy for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto.

“This show changed my life. It gave me the belief that change is possible. That change is possible if you are able to reach out. You are truly not alone,” he said on stage.

Previously, US actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach won the award for best supporting actor in a comedy for his role as restaurant manager Richard “Richie” Jerimovich in “The Bear”.

Meanwhile, the FX series Shogun, which is about ruling politics in feudal Japan, had already set a record for the most Emmys for a single season of a series with 14 wins at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards last weekend.

The series secured all of the Emmy slots in the top categories by moving from miniseries to the drama category in May as it began development on additional seasons. And in some ways, it was Emmy queen from the start.

During the golden age of the miniseries, the original 1980 film Shogun, based on the historical novel by James Clavell, won three awards, including Best Miniseries.
