SOUTH FULTON, Georgia. – Navigating the city of South Fulton will be a challenge on Tuesday as a very popular Atlanta rapper is prepared for his final resting place.

Rich Homie Quan’s funeral will be a true celebration of life. The service at World Changers Church International on Burdett Road is free, but fans have been sold tickets in advance for three separate viewings. All are already sold out.

Following the service, attendees who have reserved a spot are also invited to “The Bank,” a club-like venue on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway NW, where a free after-party will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the end of the DJ dance session.

Rich Homie Quan, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, is an Atlanta-born hitmaker. He hit the big time in the 2010s with chart-toppers like “Walk Thru,” “Lifestyle,” “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh),” “Type of Way,” and many more. He has collaborated with many celebrities, including Atlanta stars like Young Thug, 2 Chainz, and Gucci Mane.

Quan’s father and manager Corey Lamar had originally said he wanted a quick, private memorial service for the family to “start the healing process,” but then changed his mind.

“Without the fans, there would be no Quan,” Lamar said.

A huge voter turnout is expected.

From 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. and then again between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., the following Old National intersections will be closed:

• Burdett Street
• Pleasant hill
• Road Surrey Trail
• Jerome Street
• Happy Street
• Old Bill Cook Street

Motorists in South Fulton should expect delays. There will also be an increased presence in South Fulton as police officers will patrol throughout the city and along the Old National Corridor to respond to incidents. The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office and College Park Police Department will assist.

What happened to Rich Homie Quan?

As previously reported, Rich Homie Quan’s cause of death has not yet been announced.

According to a recently released police report, he was found sleeping on the kitchen floor by his brother around 3 a.m. on September 5. His brother then laid him on the couch.

His lifeless body was discovered later that morning by his girlfriend after she dropped her child off at school.

He was only 33.
