Review of the wedding of Wimbledon star Novak Djokovic and Jelena Ristic: exclusive photos

It is a special time for Novak Djokovicbecause not only the maintenance of his Wimbledon title, but he also has more reason to celebrate, as he celebrated his fifth wedding anniversary with his wife Elena on Wednesday. The couple married on July 10, 2014 in a ceremony that they shared exclusively with HELLO! Magazine.

The tennis champion, who had won the tournament for the second time just days earlier, married his childhood sweetheart on the grounds of the Montenegrin resort Aman Sveti Stefan. Jelena was pregnant at the time with the couple’s first child, a boy named Stefan, who was born in October of the same year. Their second child, Tara, followed in September 2017.

Novak Djokovic and Jelena Ristic shared their wedding anniversary with HELLO!

Speaking exclusively to HELLO! about the moment he saw his bride – dressed in an exquisite Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown – Novak said Jelena took his breath away. “When I first saw her in her wedding dress, smiling and walking towards me… She looked like an angel,” Novak said. “I tried to be present in that moment and memorize it. I focused on her, her smile and our baby. It really was a perfect moment.”

His bride felt the same way. “I was very nervous and everything seemed blurry,” Jelena told the magazine. “I saw him in tears and immediately started crying when I saw him. “I was just so happy and probably be pregnant makes it quite difficult to control the emotions. I am so lucky to have him in my life. I couldn’t ask for a better partner than him.”

Jelena continued: “The wedding was everything we could have hoped for. Our family and closest friends came together in a beautiful setting to celebrate our love. It was truly emotional and unforgettable for us.” Novak also revealed that their wedding day was all the more beautiful as it came just days after his Wimbledon victory. “I’m marrying the woman I love and there is no better feeling than that. To win Wimbledon and now to prepare for fatherhood – I couldn’t ask for more!” he said.
